Project Manager for the Midland-Odessa TX area JOB SUMMARY: Provides overall management direction to projects, establishes project objectives and policies, maintains liaison with prime client contracts, and monitors construction and financial activities through administrative direction of on-site Construction Manager or Superintendent. May be assigned as an “on-site” manager on certain projects. Typically provides overall management direction for one or more smaller projects. Makes decisions and recommendations that may greatly impact corporate relationship with Client and project profitability. Typically an entry level Project Management position with management responsibility generally limited to smaller less critical projects. Has profit and loss responsibility for projects under their control. TYPICAL DUTIES: · In conjunction with senior-level Project Management and Business Management, plan, organize and staff key field/shop positions through department heads, subordinate managers, superintendents, etc. first by effective use of Company resources. · Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy. Ensure project proceeds within scope of contract and secure proper documentation/authorization for contract change orders and extra work. · Oversee construction execution through on-site Construction Management to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. · Promote and enforce Company safety administration program, striving for zero safety incidents. Directly and/or through on-site supervision, ensure subcontractors adhere to project and corporate safety policy. · Represent Company in project meetings, assist in strategy meetings, assist in business development activities, etc. · Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect Company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client. · Review the bid/contract documents and participates in bid reviews with a final decision whether to bid/no-bid. · In the preconstruction phase attends site visit with/without project Estimator, works with Estimating on Construction Plan, facilitates completion of project Risk Analysis and Estimate Notification Form (ENF), facilitates generation of bid schedule from project Scheduler, and facilitates submittal of proposal documents to the client. · In the Pre-Planning phase conducts the project Handover meeting, creates the Project Execution Plan (PEP), oversees Safety and Quality to create a Project Safety Plan and Project Quality Plan and ultimately creates the detailed Project Plan. Additionally submits the Project Information Form (PIF), determines whether bonding or a pre-lien is required and requests if necessary, determines the need for project personnel and acquires if necessary, and assigns project team responsibilities (DOR). · Develop and manage the Project Risk Register including the documentation of contingency calculations and contingency transfer. · Oversees Procurement and Material Control to establish Project Procurement Plan. Facilitates procurement of subcontractors (if required). · Develop the baseline (contract) schedule in collaboration with the Project Controls Dept. · Develop the project code of accounts and budget in collaboration with the Project Controls Dept. · Develop the project document control/communications plan. · Request/Assign Safety and Quality Specialists to project. · Develop the project mobilization plan in collaboration with the project team. · Oversees Field Admin Dept. to schedule Project Preplanning Meeting. · Participate in customer kickoff meeting (if applicable) and communicate mobilization logistics to customer. · Schedule/lead Field Execution Meeting and conducts team orientation. · Lead/participate in daily/weekly/site meetings (as required) · Create or approve RFI’s/Change Orders and facilitate Change Order approval with customer. · Receive updated schedule information and insure updates are sent to Project Scheduler. · Update the budget as necessary. Proficient in assigned welding techniques Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Utilize measuring instruments and perform mathematical calculations. Ability to follow directions from management and work safely. We are open to hiring candidates that have attended and graduated from a Automotive/Diesel mechanic school. Under Direct Supervision of a Heavy Equipment Tech III Mechanic the Equipment Shop Technician I will be responsible for performing work involving diesel engines and construction equipment in addition to hydraulic and electrical systems. Experience with mechanics on heavy equipment or diesel applications preferred, but not required.
